Fire Status Update |
Hello {FIRST_NAME|Flash Memory Partner}, Here's a brief update on the status of the fire last August. We can report some progress this week regarding the issues occurring as a result of the Flash Memory Summit 2017 fire. Recall that the (real or perceived) slowness in addressing claims and other insurance issues has been largely from assessing fault and prospective liability among at least 8-10 parties involved at some level in the fire. Evidence collected in August had to be kept together in a secured location for later testing and, importantly, establishment of agreed-upon protocols. The protocols determine such things as: what could be tested, what testing procedures would be followed, who would conduct the tests, and so forth. Thankfully, these protocols were established to the satisfaction of all concerned and specifically to the fire engineers that each insurance company has hired to protect the insurance company's interests. The protocols having been established, the next step is the actual testing of the evidence. A date near the end of this month has been set at a fully equipped laboratory in Berkeley to enable a broad range of tests. The goal is to establish what actually happened to cause the fire.
As tests are conducted and results analyzed, more questions may be raised that the engineers will address then and there. Testing is expected to take one full day Within a few weeks after testing, we expect to be among the principals to receive a formal report and conclusion that we can use and summarize for you. In the meantime, your patience continues to be much appreciated. Headway is being made and in the foreseeable weeks ahead. Cordially, |
