Marvell and Memblaze were honored with the "Most Innovative Customer Implementation" award at the Flash Memory Summit (FMS), the industry's largest conference featuring flash memory and other high-speed memory technologies, last week.

Powered by the Marvell® Bravera™ SC5 controller, Memblaze developed the PBlaze 7 7940 GEN5 SSD family, delivering an impressive 2.5 times the performance and 1.5 times the power efficiency compared to conventional PCIe 4.0 SSDs at <25W power & ~55/9us read/write latency. This makes the SSD ideal for business-critical applications and high-performance workloads like machine learning and cloud computing. In addition, Memblaze utilized the innovative sustainability features of Marvell's Bravera SC5 controllers for greater resource efficiency, reduced environmental impact and streamlined development efforts and inventory management.

Marvell's Bravera SC5 SSD controllers are the industry's first flash controllers to enable multiple usage models such as NVMe (single or dual port operation), Software Enabled Flash (SEF), Zoned Namespace (ZNS), Open Compute Project (OCP) and more without any hardware changes. The same SSD hardware utilizing the Bravera SC5 SSD controller can be repurposed for different use cases and applications with just firmware changes. This enables customers to reuse the same underlying firmware architecture stack across the entire product offering and repurpose the same hardware when migrating to a different storage application.
